Platt Football defeats New Britian The Varsity Football Team defeated New Britian Hurricanes by a score of 20-0. Justin Potts scored all the points for the Panthers. Defense was a big key for the victory lead by Senior Anthony Sanders, Henry Jackson, Kahari Davis and Joey Quilty. The 4-1 panthers will play at Bloomfield on Friday, October 22nd.
Platt Football Improves To 3-1; Defeats Rocky Hill On Friday night, the Panther Football team defeated Rocky Hill 44 0. John Marks threw three touchdown passes to Tyshon Shields. Henry Jackson and Justin Potts each ran for a touchdown. Potts also converted 2 two-point conversions. Defensively, the Panthers dominated. Kahari Davis led the way with a new school record 93 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Next week the Panthers are home at Falcon Field against the hard hitting Hurricanes of New Britain. Game time is at 6:30pm.
JV Football Beat Rockville On Saturday morning, the JV Football Team came from behind to defeat Rocky Hill 38 27. Down two scores, the offense came alive with 2 touchdown passes to Kristion Neysmith and 1 to Jashaun Nelson. Nelson added another touchdown by intercepting a pass and running 80 yards for the score. the defense was led by John Melendez, Brandon Crespo, David Ramos, and Eli Aliaga.
Panthers Lose to Bristol Eastern The Panther football team lost to Bristol Eastern 28 20. Tyshon Shields caught two touchdown passes from John Marks. Marks added another rushing touchdown. Joe Quilty, Travaughn Morgan, Anthony Tank Sanders, and Mark Brown all played well on defense. Next week the Panthers travel to Rocky Hill on Friday Night. The Panthers are now 2-1.
JV Panthers Lose to Bristol Eastern On Saturday morning, the Bristol Eastern JV Team defeated the Panthers 14 8. Justin Potts threw a 25 yard touchdown pass to Jashaun Nelson. Potts then connected with Kendall Thomas for the two point conversion. Brandon Crespo and Mason Hatcher lead the defense.
In previous weeks, The Varsity Football Team upset Northwest Catholic by the score of 8-7 in a close game. In their second game of the season the panthers beat East Catholic 32-27. The Panthers are now 2-0 and the next home game will be on Friday, October 1st against powerhouse Bristol Eastern at Falcon Field starting at 6:30pm.
